Chad’s passion is advising entrepreneurs and small business owners. To that end, he works with federal tax clients, and with business clients in the Commonwealth of Virginia, on a variety of issues including formation, labor and employment, contracts, taxation, and management.
From 2007-2010 Chad worked for H & R Block where he learned tax law and preparation. Following the 2010 tax filing season, he left H & R Block and opened RAVEN Small Business Services, a bookkeeping, payroll, tax, legal, and general small business consulting service.
Chad built RAVEN Small Business Services by taking a holistic approach that focused on the integration of traditionally separate business functions and relied on two ideas: 1. Small business owners should be able to dial one phone number and receive any needed “back office” support. 2. Similar to the human body, a business is a collection of systems (i.e., HR, payroll, accounting, etc.), and the neglecting any one system can place the whole organization in peril.
In 2018, Chad was honored to join Dunlap, Bennett, & Ludwig’s Legal Service Plan Team in an “Of Counsel” role, expanding his capacity to focus on the needs of small business owners and entrepreneurs while working to maximize their profits and minimize their risks.
When not advising business clients, Chad’s hobbies are triathlon, kayaking, Beachbody fitness programs, camping, and reading.
