Biography

Dominique Braggs is a Partner in the Trust and Estate section at Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig. She prides herself in providing her clients with “asset protection at every stage of life.” To that end, Dominique focuses on three specific areas of law – Elder Law, Estate Planning, and Probate.

Dominique earned her BS in International Strategic History with a focus on North Africa and Southwest Asia in 1994 and her JD in 2005. In the years in between, she served as a Finance officer in the United States Army, stationed in South Korea and Texas. She also worked for General Electric as a Process Engineer in Bloomington..., Indiana, and as a Global Commodity Leader in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dominique began her legal career crafting estate plans for first responders and law enforcement officers. When a family member developed dementia, she saw firsthand the importance of having a well-crafted estate plan and the repercussions when Courts have to intervene to protect incapacitated individuals.

Dominique opened her first law firm in 2008, where she focused her practice within the Probate Division, serving as Guardian Ad Litem, General Guardian, Healthcare Guardian, and Conservator for incapacitated adults in Washington, DC, and as Guardian Ad Litem for juveniles in Virginia.
Dominique was also a member of the Board of Directors of Aspire! After School Learning program in Arlington, VA, for six years. The organization provided a supportive after-school learning environment to students in the 3rd through 5th grades. She is a current member of the Board of Directors of the WCWS 1994 Class Fund, which provides assistance and support to the members of the United States Military Academy Class of 1994 and their families. She is also the incoming 1994 class representative for the Association of Graduates Advisory Council.

Dominique is a native of Arlington, Virginia, and continues to call it her home. A mother of three children, her eldest, Bobbi, a 2016 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, is a technical specialist at USAA in San Antonio, TX. Her daughter, Brandi, a 2021 graduate of the United States Military Academy, is a 2LT in the Corp of Engineers. Her son, Robert, is a member of the Class of 2025 at the United States Military Academy. Dominique maintains a close relationship with her former spouse and his wife, and she claims their three children as her bonus children.
