OVERVIEW

Practical solutions to complex employment problems

The best solution to litigation is to avoid it in the first place. But in today’s fast-changing workplace, achieving compliance with an ever-growing web of labor and employment laws may seem impossible. Counseling and compliance training from the experienced labor and employment team at Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig can help clients hit that moving target.

To anticipate and address potential problems before they evolve into litigation, we first have to understand a client’s business, culture, and people. Our lawyers spend time learning about each client’s workplace so we can offer practical advice to mitigate risk. We then help clients develop and maintain employment policies, practices, and training programs that reduce the risk of expensive, protracted litigation.

As a result, our clients can maintain their focus on what matters: their work.

Our experience in employment counseling and compliance

Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig’s experienced team of employment lawyers helps clients reduce the risk of litigation through audits, risk assessments, workplace investigations, and training programs.

Our lawyers lead intensive audits of personnel policies; wage and hour compliance; and hiring, promotion, and compensation practices for both employees and independent contractors. We also conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential problems before they rise to the level of a dispute. When new federal, state, and local laws and regulations arise, we keep clients informed of the impact they may have on their workplace practices.

When employees raise harassment, discrimination, and retaliation claims, we shepherd employers through the investigation process, helping them prepare for interviews, review documentation and other employment records, make recommendations, and, where appropriate, prepare a final investigation report.

We also help clients develop policies and in-house training programs to address perennial workplace problems, including harassment, discrimination, and pay equity. Our goal is to help clients build a respectful, inclusive work environment.
