Overview

Helping businesses take flight

Experience matters in aviation, whether you’re a pilot, fixed base operator, manufacturer, or lawyer. That’s because aviation is a highly regulated, high-stakes industry. Every decision carries risk, and the wrong decision can cost millions of dollars and lives. Managing legal matters for aviation clients requires a deep understanding of aviation laws and regulations as well as the business of the industry.

The aviation team at Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig handles matters on behalf of major companies and private individuals. Our cases involve large commercial aircraft and small turboprops. The diversity of our client base demands that we are prepared to handle the full spectrum of transactional, regulatory, and litigation-related matters that affect aircraft owners and operators.

Our experience in the aviation industry

Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig represents national and local carriers, aviation manufacturers, type certificate holders, MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) companies, fixed base operators (FBOs), pilots, drone operators, and other industry-related companies. Our lawyers include pilots, aircraft owners, an airport commissioner, and panel counsel for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). Lawyers at our firm have spoken before the national MRO conference and the AOPA annual conference.

Our aviation team advises clients on contracts, registration, enforcement actions, and more. We also handle litigation matters in federal and state courts and before regulatory agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of State (DOS), and Department of Justice (DOJ).
