Biography

Bryan Latham is a registered patent attorney in the firm’s Patent Group. Mr. Latham has developed extensive experience in a wide array of patent law areas, including patent preparation and prosecution (both U.S. and foreign);validity, non-infringement and infringement opinions; and patent portfolio development and management.

Mr. Latham has more than 20 years of counseling, preparation, and prosecution experience, first as a patent agent and then as an attorney, and he has prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in a broad array of technology areas, with particular concentration on physical sciences... and computer technologies. He represents a wide range of clients in the computer and software industries, including semiconductor manufacturers, operating system vendors, Internet commerce companies, networking vendors, and computer and network security systems companies.

Mr. Latham is also a former patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined patent applications in the cryptography and computer security art unit. At the USPTO, Mr. Latham examined applications covering encryption, secure electronic commerce, computer networks, wireless communication, public key infrastructure, virtual private networks, cryptocurrency, digital signatures, digital certificates, and digital watermarks.

We have created a positive work environment where our paralegals and legal assistants work to successfully reach firm-wide goals and support each other to combine individual strengths to enhance team performance. They regularly assist our attorneys with organizing and maintaining files, conducting legal research, and preparing documents.
