Biography

Barney Goodman is a Partner with Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig and specializes in the resolution of business and construction disputes, mechanics liens, real estate, foreclosures, and contract, corporate, and employment disputes as well assisting clients in their business and real estate transactions.

Barney litigates in state and federal courts and frequently does appellate work in the Virginia Supreme Court. He is often called upon to give expert testimony on the topics of real estate law and attorney fees. Barney has served as Chairman of the Judicial Screening, Long Range Planning, and Professionalism Committees... of the Fairfax Bar Association. Barney is AV®-Rated by Martindale-Hubbell® Peer-Review Ratings, the highest rating available for excellence in legal ethics and practice.

Barney graduated with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He then received his J.D. at Case Western University Reserve School of Law. As a U.S. Army Officer, Barney was certified as a lawyer by the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General in Fort Eustis, Virginia, prior to serving in Vietnam. He worked as Trial Counsel in the Office of General Counsel of the U.S. Navy in Washington, D.C. before entering private law practice in Tysons Corner. He is a Special Commissioner of Sale for the 19th Judicial Circuit in Fairfax County.

At Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig, our team of paralegals and staff work together collaboratively along side our attorneys toward a common goal.
