OVERVIEW

Protecting business interests in the global marketplace

Negotiating the terms of any transaction can be fraught with pitfalls. But in a cross-border transaction, parties must consider the risks that may arise when doing business with companies from countries with different laws and regulations, political regimes, and cultures. It takes counsel experienced in cross-border transactions and related disputes to draft agreements that can withstand these challenges.

Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig advises businesses that engage in cross-border transactions and represents clients who become embroiled in cross-border disputes. Our law firm handles issues involving business contracts, tax law, mergers and acquisitions, antitrust law, and international trade regulations. Our lawyers use their experience and problem-solving skills to help clients draft agreements, comply with various laws and regulations, and resolve any disputes that may arise. In doing so, we help clients reduce risk so they can stay focused on their business objectives.

Our experience with cross-border transactions and related disputes

Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig’s cross-border practice advises clients in the United States and abroad. In 2021, Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig merged with Rhoads and Reed, expanding our coverage to Canada and the United Kingdom. Our law firm’s cross-border team has more than 40 years of combined experience in helping companies navigate the complexities of international transactions, including export control laws and international trade laws.

We represent a wide variety of clients, from small businesses to midsize companies to the largest defense contractors in the United States. The issues we have handled on behalf of these clients include product classification and licensing issues, technology transfers, enforcement matters, and compliance audits. Our goal is to help clients find more efficient, effective ways to accomplish their business objectives in international markets.
