Biography

Lawrence (Chip) Muir’s practice focuses on cybersecurity, government regulation, and government contracts. Chip has a unique background for this area of the law. As an attorney, he prosecuted computer crimes for almost 5years. As an entrepreneur, he started his own software company and has developed multiple cybersecurity offerings, including compliance software used by corporate executives to track internal compliance and make informed decisions regarding the cybersecurity risk within their supply chain.

Chip has held positions with the federal and state government. In 2017 he served as General Counsel and as the... Acting Chief of Staff to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. He served in state government as Assistant Attorney General of Virginia, and local government as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney. He has also been the general counsel to a government contractor and taught cybercrime law as an adjunct professor of law at Washington and Lee University School of Law. He has also been the CEO of The Muir Group since 2018, which is a holdings company that owns subsidiary companies that develop national security-related technologies.
