Lawrence (Chip) Muir’s practice focuses on cybersecurity, government regulation, and government contracts. Chip has a unique background for this area of the law. As an attorney, he prosecuted computer crimes for almost 5 years. As an entrepreneur, he started his own software company and has developed multiple cybersecurity offerings, including compliance software used by corporate executives to track internal compliance and make informed decisions regarding the cybersecurity risk within their supply chain.

Chip has held positions with the federal and state government. In 2017 he served as General Counsel and as the Acting Chief of Staff to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. He served in state government as Assistant Attorney General of Virginia, and local government as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney. He has also been the general counsel to a government contractor and taught cybercrime law as an adjunct professor of law at Washington and Lee University School of Law. He has also been the CEO of The Muir Group since 2018, which is a holdings company that owns subsidiary companies that develop national security-related technologies.

With a global team of lawyers, selected candidates are able to work on high level projects in a collaborative space.

Paralegals and Legal Support Staff

At Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig, our team of paralegals and staff work together collaboratively along side our attorneys toward a common goal. We have created a positive work environment where our paralegals and legal assistants work to successfully reach firm-wide goals and support each other to combine individual strengths to enhance team performance. They regularly assist our attorneys with organizing and maintaining files, conducting legal research, and preparing documents.
