Biography

Craig Besnoy is a technology-focused attorney and Partner at Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig, where he leads the firm’s Data Security and Compliance practice. With deep expertise in intellectual property, data privacy, and cybersecurity, Craig advises clients across a range of highly regulated industries—including financial services, healthcare, media, insurance, e-commerce, and technology—on developing cybersecurity programs and technology infrastructures that align with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, NIST, ISO 27001, and CMMC. 

Through his Data Security and Compliance practice, Craig has helped numerous wealth management firms and medical offices become compliant with complex regulatory requirements, ensuring they meet industry standards while enhancing their resilience against cyber threats. 

Craig is a trusted advisor to senior leadership and investors at high-growth technology companies, helping them mitigate risk and navigate legal complexities around privacy law, technology licensing, policy development, and strategic alliances. His work includes structuring SaaS agreements, leading digital transformation initiatives, and counseling companies on the legal, regulatory, and operational implications of cybersecurity threats and AI integration. 

He previously served as Program Director at Mindtree Ltd., where he spearheaded digital strategy and privacy consulting for Fortune 500 clients across the financial, insurance, CPG, and media sectors. His leadership roles include President of Netbiscuits North America, where he helped secure $27 million in investment and negotiated over $13 million in strategic licensing deals with major brands including Coca-Cola, eBay, CBS, and Time Inc. 

In earlier roles, Craig held executive positions at Universal Music Group, Imaginova Corporation, and Vivendi Universal, leading business development, direct-to-consumer strategy, mobile commerce initiatives, and corporate M&A. 

Craig earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Alabama and his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he specialized in Intellectual Property Law. He is licensed to practice law in the State of New York. 

He is also the creator of a cybersecurity compliance course and curriculum, listed in FINRA’s Compliance Vendor Directory, and is accredited by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as both a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP-US).
