Jeff Burke

Jeff Burke is a Patent Attorney at Dunlap Bennet & Ludwig. He has been working with patent applications since 2007, when he started as a junior patent examiner at the USPTO.  Jeff spent almost 17 years at the USPTO in various roles before becoming a Primary Patent Examiner in the USPTO’s Technology Center 2100, where he examined computer and software related inventions. During his time as a Primary Patent Examiner Jeff served on several details that enhanced his knowledge of office practices, including a detail to the Quality Assurance Shop, and a detail as a trainer of new Patent Examiners. In 2020, Jeff was promoted... to Supervisory Patent Examiner in Technology Center 3600, where he oversaw examination of vehicle controls and robotics controls examiners. In addition to his supervisory duties, he also served as a point-of-contact for examiners dealing with 35 U.S.C. 101 issues.

Jeff has bachelor’s degrees in both Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston, and in addition, has a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida.
