Biography

Erick Poorbaugh’s practice covers a wide variety of areas, ranging from personal injury to intellectual property. He has extensive experience working for the courts, during which he advised judges regarding a wide variety of legal issues. Prior to joining DBL, Erick served for several years as a staff attorney for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Erick has also interned for both a federal district judge and the Chief Justice of the Mississippi Supreme Court.

During law school, Erick served as an editor on the Regent University Law... Review and published a student note analyzing the Supreme Court’s then-recent ruling in Melendez-Diaz v. Massachusetts, 557 U.S. 305 (2009). Erick graduated second in his class, summa cum laude. Erick’s awards included the Trustee’s Scholarship and the Professional Responsibility Award from the international legal honors society of Phi Delta Phi.

In addition to his work for the firm, Erick enjoys reading and visiting national parks and historic sites. In July 2018, Erick married the love of his life, and the two of them are excited to see what God has in store for them together.

Paralegals and Legal Support Staff

At Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig, our team of paralegals and staff work together collaboratively along side our attorneys toward a common goal. We have created a positive work environment where our paralegals and legal assistants work to successfully reach firm-wide goals and support each other to combine individual strengths to enhance team performance. They regularly assist our attorneys with organizing and maintaining files, conducting legal research, and preparing documents.
