OVERVIEW

Protecting your most valuable secrets

Companies often have valuable information that gives them a competitive advantage, such as their methods of doing business, manufacturing processes, contract pricing, and customer and supplier lists. While this information doesn’t qualify for patent, copyright, or trademark protection, it still needs to be kept confidential. And that’s harder than ever with employees today moving between companies.

Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig’s litigators stand ready to help clients protect their valuable intellectual property with emergency relief such as an injunction and at trial. Our law firm helps companies prevent, contain, and recover from trade secret leaks and disclosures.

Our real estate litigation experience

Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig’s lawyers have experience defending and prosecuting a range of trade secret claims, from reverse-engineered products taken by former employees to theft of business plans and source code, in federal and state courts and before the International Trade Commission. Our intellectual property team also represents clients in matters involving unfair competition and deceptive trade practices claims. The lawsuits our litigators have handled span fraud, the misappropriation of trade secrets by former employees, breaches of fiduciary duty, tortious interference, employee solicitation, and breach of noncompetition agreements.

Our lawyers are intimately familiar with the law and jurisprudence in this specialized field, including the Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA), the Uniform Trade Secrets Act (UTSA), the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and the Economic Espionage Act. Many of our lawyers have the technical backgrounds necessary to understand the issues and risks and are backed by a fully staffed patent, copyright, and trademark team.
